D Ramchand Sri Eswar, student of Ravindra Bharathi Public School (RBPS) Nunna branch, has been selected to Andhra Pradesh Sub-junior (under-14) team which will be participating in the Pesapallo Sub-junior Nationals which is to be held at Pali in Rajasthan from July 8 to 10.

Ramchand Sri Eswar is in the fourth standard. He participated in selection trails which was organised by the Krishna District Pesapallo to pick up AP sub-junior team at St Joseph’s High School in Payakapuram. He performed well and was selected for the state team, said AP Pesapallo Association secretary Sarala Srinivasa Rao.

In this connection RBPS Nunna branch arranged a small felicitation for Ramchand for being selectedin the AP Sub-junior team at the school premises on Monday. Nunna sarpanch Karre Vijay Kumar, principal P Neelima, APPA secretary Sarala Srinivasa Rao praised Ramchand and presented him with a memento.

Speaking on the occasion sarpanch Vijay Kumar said that both government and private schools should encourage students in sports and games. Everyone should give priority to sports on par with education and outstanding players are a pride to their institution, he added. Pesapallo sub-junior team coach R Suresh, RBPS Physical Education Teachers (PET) G Siva Rama Krishna and M Vamsi participated.
