Volvo has launched the V90 Cross Country in India and has priced it at Rs. 60 lakhs (ex-showroom, pan-India). The V90 Cross Country is essentially a station wagon version of the S90 and Cross Country badge in the V90 Cross Country representing a rugged form of the V90.

Starting with the looks, the V90 Cross Country is based on the S90. The luxury estate also carries the same design language from the S90 and hence the front fascia is reminiscent of the latter save for the rugged looking bumper. The Thor-inspired Hammer LED headlamps with LED DRLs and the wide grille upfront with chrome embellishments dominate the front end.

The V90 Cross Country comes with a power tailgate feature and open the tailgate, a capacity of 560-litres will stare at you. This already massive boot space can be further increased to 1526-litres if the second row seats are folded. The V90 Cross Country is an estate that is luxurious, practical and can tackle harsh terrains too.

Step inside the car and again you’ll be reminded of the S90. The cabin isn’t just luxurious to look at and feel, but also is a lot functional. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system replaces the plethora of buttons on the centre console (as seen on the older Volvos) and is offered with a 19-speaker Bower and Wilkins audio system.

The Volvo V90 Cross Country is powered by a 1969cc, 4-cylinder, twin-turbo, diesel engine that produces 235 HP of maximum power and 480 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and offers 4 driving modes – Comfort, Off-Road, Dynamic and Eco mode.

Suspended via a double wishbone suspension upfront and an air suspension at the rear, the V90 Cross Country comes with a 60-litres fuel-tank capacity. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at all the four corners.

The estate also gets AWD functionality while on the safety front, the vehicle is loaded with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Lane Keeping Assist, Traction Control, ESP, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and a lot more.
