VSS Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNTU(Kakinada) called on the Engineering students to concentrate on setting up industries or companies to provide employment to others instead of going to Jobs. The Vice Chancellor addressed the Freshers’ induction programme as the Chief Guest held at SRKR Engineering College in Bhimavaram on Friday. College Principal G Pardhasaradhi Varma presided over the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the JNTU-K Vice Chancellor said that the Centre and State Government’s are trying to extend new technology to the students in college level. The Indian President Pranab Mukherjee while addressing the Vice Chancellors’ meeting of 600 Universities in Delhi, said that the Human Resources Development Department has prepared 100 digital subjects.

He stressed the need to provide at least 20 per cent digital information in addition to the syllabus at the college level. The IITs, IISCs are spending Rs 15 Crores on an average per annum on libraries. He suggested the affiliated engineering colleges utilise information that has been digitalised by JNTU-K in a big way. He also stressed on the need to setup of incubation and innovation centres in every Engineering college.

He said that the SRKR Engineering College stood first in the 263 JNTU affiliated Engineering Colleges by providing facilities like labs and I-Hub. Later the College management felicitated the JNTU Vice-Chancellor. After the meeting, the Vice Chancellor inaugurated the Science block constructed with a cost of Rs.4 Crores in the College.

JNTU-K Engineering College principal Dr GVR Prasada Raju, Switzerland Luciana University Professor Bernhard M Hamarilly, College governing body President Sagi Prasada Raju, Chairman Gokaraju Murali Rangaraju Director SV Rangaraju, CEO Sagi Ramakrishna Nishantha Varma, Vice Principal KVSN Raju participated in the meeting.
