The Principal of the College MVS Sharma welcomed the guests and asked the students to follow the Gandhian Principles which are very relevant for peace and prosperity.

About 57 students who completed 3-Months Certificate Course on Gandhian Philosophy received the Certificates at a programme held at Government Junior College in Nidadavole on Thursday by Gandhian Studies Centre of Sri YN College, Narsapur. College Principal MVS Sharma presided over the programme and Dr Y Gopala Krishna Murthy, Treasurer of Sri YN College, Narsapur attended as Chief Guest and awarded the certificates to Gandhi Course Students.

The Principal of the College MVS Sharma welcomed the guests and asked the students to follow the Gandhian Principles which are very relevant for peace and prosperity. This course was introduced in October 2016 in collaboration with Sahitya Education Society, Nidadavole. Satish Kumar, President of Sahitya Education Society invited the guests on to the dais.

The Chief Guest Dr Y Gopala Krishna Murthy said that the present generation is ignoring the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and it is the responsibility of the teachers and elders to make them understand the spirit of Nationalism and the sacrifices of our national leaders. He also insisted for the audience to read biographies of our national leaders which can help them to mould their personality and mind set.

The present society is ignoring Gandhiji, and that’s why the criminality and unrest are more in our present society, he said. To restore peace, human coexistence and human values, Gandhian principles are more relevance today, he said. Prof D Venkateswara Rao, Director of Gandhian Studies Centre, asked the students to imbibe the Gandhian Principles to carry forward the light of Mahatma for future generations.

He asked the students to shoulder the responsibility and develop human relations and humanity, a practice of Gandhian Principles are more apt today. Gandhian principles tell us how to live and how not to live. Gandhiji’s life educates us to go for simple living and high thinking, live locally and think globally and also live and let live, Prof.Rao said.

Later, the principal, chief guest and other guests distributed 57 Certificates to students and faculty members who successfully completed said Gandhi Course. Satish Kumar, President, Sahithya Education Society, DNR Law College faculty member Venkayamma, NSS Coordinator, Murali Krishna, civics faculty member, Nagarjuna, other faculty members and students attended the programme.
