Royal Enfield stopped selling the Himalayan from April this year owing to its engine not being able to meet the BS4 emission norms. However, the company, after a period of 4 months has now started dispatching the BS4-compliant Himalayans to dealerships. One extra feature the 2017 Himalayan gets is Fuel Injection.

Apart from Fuel Injection, Royal Enfield has made very minor changes on the adventure bike. Changes include a blacked-out fuel cap and handlebar mount. These changes are barely noticeable.  The Himalayan pictured here is painted white and the coverings on the fender tip, handlebar tip, and the clutch and brake lever tip are probably put to avoid any damage to the motorcycle during transportation.

Meanwhile, the Himalayan continues to be powered by the same 411cc motor that produces 24.5 HP of power and 32 Nm of torque. This motor comes matched to a five-speed gearbox. Nonetheless, the addition of Fuel Injection will make cold starts on the motorcycle much easier.

Bookings for the Himalayan BS4 have commenced and deliveries will commence next month onwards. The BS4 Himalayan with Fuel Injection is priced at Rs. 1,84,514 (ex-showroom, Chennai) which is over Rs. 20,000 expensive than the discontinued version.

Also, very recently an Army Green colour of the Himalayan had been spotted, however, Royal Enfield hasn’t yet confirmed regarding the Himalayan being available in the Army Green colour. The website too lists out only the White and Granite colour options.
