The Deputy Speaker said that literature and culture of other states had influenced Telugus in numerous ways. He even stressed on Telugu literature and culture impact on other neighboring states.

Speaking to The Hans India, Sahitya Academy secretary K Srinivas Rao said that this was the first time a two days meet was organised in a big way inviting 50 eminent writers from North-East and Southern states.

Writers from fifteen various languages including Banjara, Gondi, Garo and Tiwa languages which were not included in the eighth schedule of Indian constitution also took part in the meet.

The session started with the topic ‘Is literature the mirror of society’ and speakers including Vizaid Bhaskar (Telugu), Venga Dasoupraya Nayagar (Tamil), VP Joy (Malayalam) and Faguna Barmahalia (Bodo) have delivered their lectures. Later poets meet was held and readers from Assamese, Bodo, Gandi, Kannada, Manipuri, Mizo, Nepali, Tamil and Telugu participated.

Sahitya Academy convener N Gopi, Sahitya Academy Vice-president Chandrashekar Kambar, Assamese writer YD Thongchi, other writer and readers were present.
