Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion and gaiety at different places in the city on Monday. Sri Krishna Prardhana Mandir in old city has planned a three-day celebration. Devotees form groups and perform ‘Go ksheerabhishekam’ and ‘Tulasi Dalarchana’ to Lord Krishna.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion and gaiety at different places in the city on Monday. Sri Krishna Prardhana Mandir in old city has planned a three-day celebration. Devotees form groups and perform ‘Go ksheerabhishekam’ and ‘Tulasi Dalarchana’ to Lord Krishna.

According to temple organisers, the celebrations began on Monday and will last till August 16. Children were dressed in the attire of Lord Krishna . Kids of various age groups took part in the dress competition. Prizes were given to children who pleased the audience with their performance.

The organisers will perform Rukmini Kalyanam on Tuesday evening. Later the devotees would be given Maha Prasadam. About 50 couple would participate in the Kalyanam. The special attraction, Utti Kottuta would be held on Wednesday. Janmashtami was also celebrated on a grand note at Durgapuram. Yadava Sangham had made arrangements for the celebrations.
