Dr Veena Murthy gets award for excellence
The dignitaries conducted kanakabhishekam to KVS on the occasion. Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao, MLC Ramu Surya Rao, AP Film TV and Theatre Development Corporation Chairman Ambica Krishna, well-known distributor Usha Balakrishna Rao participated.
The KV Satyanarayana excellence award was presented to Dr Veena Murthy Vijay, a Kuchipudi exponent from Bengaluru at function held in Eluru. The Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad, Communications Advisor to AP Government Parakala Prabhakar, Padmabhushan Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad jointly presented the award to Veena Murthy Vijay at YMHA hall in Eluru. The award was presented on the occasion of KVS Trust Chairman and Kuchipudi dancer/cine choreographer KV Satyanarayana’s 60th birthday.
On this occasion, an Indian Classical dance performance from the different states of India was presented. Classical music concerts, Social drama, Kuchipudi dance competitions essay writing competitions and felicitations to eminent artists from different fields also was a part of the programme. The dignitaries presented the prizes to winners of Kuchipudi dance competition and Essay writing competitions.
Dr Ch Ajay Kumar presented a Kuchipudi dance on the occasion. A Souvenir about KVS dance journey and special postal stamp on K V Satyanarayana was released. The Youngmen Hindu Association (YMHA) executive committee has felicitated KV Satyanarayana with a silver crown and Fine Arts Academy felicitated with Moukthikabhishekam.
