The facelifted KUV100 aka KUV100 NXT has been spied at a dealership in India. Mahindra hasn’t yet announced a launch timeline for the car, but we expect it to happen soon owing to the vehicles already having reached dealerships.
The facelifted KUV100 aka KUV100 NXT has been spied at a dealership in India. Mahindra hasn’t yet announced a launch timeline for the car, but we expect it to happen soon owing to the vehicles already having reached dealerships.
Considering that this is just a facelift, Mahindra hasn’t just done a surgery on the face of the car but has gone a mile ahead and updated the mechanicals of the car too. The facelifted KUV100 looks more stylish and comes across a better-packaged product than the car it replaces.
For starters, there’s a new grille and redesigned front bumper. Three vertical chrome inserts (that appear claw-like) on either sides of the Mahindra badge add a hint of aggression to the car’s front fascia while the sporty bumper with an integrated silver scuff plate and black plastic surrounds around the fog lamps give the car a daunting look. Though the headlamp design remains the same, it gets new twin-pod elements.
The black cladding around the car has been thickened and the hatchback also gets new 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The twin-pod tail-lights get clear lens treatment and the rear bumper gets a silver scuff plate too. There is a roof-mounted spoiler to round off the sporty exterior of the car.
The interior gets a similar dashboard layout and a steering wheel but unlike the previous car which had a black and beige dashboard, the KUV100 NXT gets an-all black dashboard. There is also a touchscreen infotainment system on offer. The climate control buttons have been minimised from 3 to 1.
Though the facelifted KUV100 continues to be powered by the same set of 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines, the company has tuned both the engines for better fuel-efficiency and NVH levels in the cabin.
Thanks to the strengthened engine mounts, engine noise creeping into the cabin are expected to be reduced. The 1.2 petrol makes 82 HP of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the 1.2 diesel churns out 77 HP of power and 190 Nm of torque. Both the mills come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
