Celebrating 200 years of Thyagarajaswamy
Swarajhuri musical organization conducted ‘Thyagarajaswamy pancharatna keertana ganam’ on Thursday evening at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.

Modumudi Sudhakar, the founder secretary of Swarajhuri said that this programme was organised to mark the 250th birthday celebrations of Saint Thyagarajaswamy.
On this occasion about 200 musicians participated in the ‘Pancharatna Keerthana ganam.’ This programme was traditionally commenced with the keerthana on Lord Ganesh “Sri Ganapatini Sevincharare” in Sourastra ragam. The concert was followed by Pancharatna Keerthanas “Jagadananda karaka” in Nata ragam, “Duduku gala” in Gowla ragam, “Sadhinchene Oo Manasa” in Aarabhi ragam, “Kanakana ruchira” in Varali ragam and “Yandaro mahanubhavulu” in Sree ragam.
Noted musicians like Annavarapu Ramaswamy, Pemmaraju Suryarao, Modumudi Sudhakar, Popuri Gowrinath, KS Govindarajan, CVP Sastry, Hemadri Chandrakanth, Sasidhar, Vishnubhotla Sistrers, Anjana and others participated.
On this event, the organisers felicitated eminent scholar Mudukutla Brahmanada Sastry. Dr Brahmananda Sastry had delivered an impressive lecture for about two hours on Thagaraju and his keerthans.
