Old students felicitate lecturers, alma mater

Vijayawada: The Alumni of the Andhra Loyola College (ALC) had come together at the Haailand near Mangalagiri on Saturday to express gratitude towards the alma mater. The retired lecturers and distinguished alumni received the honour, where both the parties exchanged nostalgic memories.

They held their institution high in terms of discipline, teaching quality and facilities provided to the students. The congregation agreed that the institution had given them education and the necessary social skills to become leaders in their trade.

Adabala Yogeswara Apparayalu, the man who rallied the alumni right from the 1954 batch was specially honoured by the alumni for his efforts in making the event happen with his usage of social media to update members of the developments of the get-together event.
The Loyolites have a tradition of greeting each other in the morning everyday whilst making a special note to greet the birthday boys.

The former teachers, Padma Bhushan Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Dr M C Das, N Appanna, N Sureshan and ESRK Prasad were felicitated as part of the event.

The meet also saw the honouring a list of the distinguished old students of the college, which included retired chief commissioner of Income Tax K Ajay Kumar, the retired DGP of Jammu and Kashmir,

K Rajendra Kumar, industrialist Yarlagadda Harish Chandra Prasad, Dr YSR Horticulture University board of management member and director of research Dr J Dilip Babu, director of Hyderabad-based Srinidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Dr A Subhananda Rao, director of Citizen Cooperative Society, Garapati Purnachandra Rao, advisor to the AP State government on tourism, K Lakshminarayana and director of Homi Bhaba Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Visakhapatnam, Dr Raghunadha Rao.
