Vijayawada: Minister for Irrigation Devineni Umamamheswara Rao distributed Chandranna Christmas Kankuka kits to Christians at Santhi Nagar in Mylavaram on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that the aim of the government was to help the underprivileged Christian families to celebrate Christmas.
The minister stated that the government was distributing Rs 51 lakh worth of Chandranna Kanukalu in Mylavaram and instructed the fair price shop dealers to keep the stocks within reach and asked Christians to receive the kits.
He said that the government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been implementing several welfare schemes for minorities.Tahsildar KV Sivaiah was also present at the give-away.
