State Government is taking up a big project to commemorate legendary musician, Dr Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna in his native village Shankaraguptam in East Godavari district.
Rajamahendravaram: State Government is taking up a big project to commemorate legendary musician, Dr Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna in his native village Shankaraguptam in East Godavari district.
A three-member committee consisting of government advisor Dr Parakala Prabhakar, Ghazal Srinivas and Mangalampalli Abhiram visited the village on Wednesday and discussed with the villagers about the project.
Later, Dr Parakala Prabhakar said that the new ragas of Dr Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna would be digitised in CDs in the upcoming Balamurali Krishna memorial building. He is positive that the village would become a tourist spot. “The proposed project is an example of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's respect for the legendary musician,” he remarked.
MLA Gollapalli Surya Rao assured to extend his help in this regard and asked the villagers to put in their efforts as well.
Revenue divisional officer BV Ramana, sarpanch CBS Gopala Rao and others were present.
