Guntur: Minister for Social Welfare, Nakka Anand Babu on Friday urged people to make Christmas celebrations a success scheduled to be held in the LEM School here on December 23, for which Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would be chief guest.

Addressing a press meet here, he informed that the state government was committed to the welfare of Christians and have given Rs 1 lakh to repair old Churches and sanctioned Rs 3 lakh to construct new ones.

The Minister urged all Christian associations across the city to participate in the celebrations attended by Naidu and make it a grand success.

He said that he would take up grievances of the Christians with the CM to resolve them. Earlier, he reviewed arrangements for the Christmas celebrations.
