Nagarotsavam in Chimakurthy

Santanutalapadu: The authorities and devotees of Srilakshmi Padmavathi Sameta Sri Venkateswara Swami temple in Chimakurgthy organised the nagarotsavam, a procession in the town, on Friday afternoon.

The nagarotsavam started at the Srikrishna temple in the town and concluded at the Harihara Kshetram on the outskirts and then to Srivenkateswara Swami temple.

About 516 women devotees carried Kalasams filled with water on their head and joined the procession. The priests offered Kalasabhishekam with the water in the kalasams to the presiding deities in the Venkateswara temple.

Later, the pundits performed Sudarsana Homa, Santhi Homam and Purnahuti. In the evening, the temple authorities organised procession of the deities in the town.
