Akiveedu: West Godavari District Consumers Associations Federation President and State Government Consumer Rights Protection Committee member Bobbili Bangaraiah called upon the students to come forward to build a corrupt-free new society.

He participated in an awareness meeting on the consumer rights conducted for the students under the auspices of Adarsha Lion’s Club of Akiveedu, Vidyavikas Degree College and Consumers Association to mark the National Consumers Right Day on Sunday.

College Principal B Satish presided over the meeting.Speaking at the meeting, Bangaraiah said of late everything is being adulterated and the people were suffering from diseases due to adulteration. By offering rebates many business establishments had been cheating the public. The consumers should question the exploitation of consumers.

He suggested to the students to create awareness among the public on the consumers’ rights. He also suggested to the consumers who were cheated by the business establishments to approach the Consumer Forum.

District metrology officer M Venkat Rao, Food Safety Inspectors S Srinivas, P Sesha Reddy, tahsildar Nagarjuna Reddy, Adarsh Lions Club president Sirajuddin, secretary Phani Seshagiri Rao, Junior College principal Chopperla Balaram Babu, college correspondent Adivi Venkata Subba Rao and others addressed the students.

The Adarsha Lion’s Club felicitated the District Consumers Association president Bobbili Bangaraiah.
