Farmers stage dharna to purchase black gram stocks

Tenali (Guntur): Farmers staged a dharna at the Tenali Agriculture Market Yard on Friday to mount pressure on the government to purchase black gram stocks from the farmers immediately from the newly opened purchasing centre.

The farmers said that even though it has been two days since the purchase centre opened, not a single bag of black gram stock was purchased from the farmers.

They raised slogans against the agriculture-marketing officials and warned that if they did not purchase stocks, they will intensify their agitation. The farmers urged the officials to purchase black gram stocks immediately to extend a helping hand to the farmers at the earliest.
