Premium knee surgery cost cut down to Rs 1 lakh
As many as 20 gold (premium) knee replacement surgeries were performed as against 200 knee surgeries in Universal Hospitals so far in the city.
Rajamahendravaram: As many as 20 gold (premium) knee replacement surgeries were performed as against 200 knee surgeries in Universal Hospitals so far in the city.
Speaking to reporters in the hospital here on Friday, hospital chief and eminent knee replacement surgeon, Arumilli Rajendrababu said that the hospital is performing gold knee surgeries only in the twin Godavari districts. “It is a quality surgery with a longevity estimated to be up to 25 years. The surgery is performed through Ortho Pilot Navigation System only,” he explained.
“There are no side effects after surgery and the patient can return home within a week without any problem. Follow-up medical care is also available to the patients who underwent surgery.
The cost of the implant is Rs 1 lakh against the prior charged Rs 3 lakh,” he added. “Only 50 gold implants are imported from Germany per month. In addition to the implant cost, the patients would be spending Rs 1 lakh for medicines,” he informed.
He appealed to the people suffering with knee problems to undergo the surgery.
