Vijayawada: Datta Peetham of Mysore seer, Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamy was in the city to begin the Sankranthi festival celebrations and to greet the devotees here at the Vijayawada Ashram on Friday.
Speaking to devotees after beginning the festival celebrations, Swamiji said that Makara Sankranthi would fill happiness and peace in the lives of all the people.
As part of Sankranthi celebrations, on January 13 Sri Chakra pooja and Maha Ganapathi Homam would be performed. In the evening, Vajrotsava Vedukalu would be held on Swamiji’s birthday.
He further said that for the peace of nature, he would perform Hanuman Chalisa Maha Yagnam, which would start from February 3 at Visakhapatnam sea shore.
