The TANA-2017 award-winning novel ‘Neela’ was released at a programme held at Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha office here. The Chaitanya Vedika and the Sahiti Mitrulu of Eluru conducted the programme. Chaitanya Vedika former president PS Chandu presided over the meeting. Writer Kunaparaju Kumar conducted the meeting. Poet, critic Anjali Yalamanchili introduced the novel and explained the main content.

Noted critic and poet Lanka Venkateswarlu said Malleswari who hails from Vempadu in Pedapadu mandal of West Godavari won the TANA-2017 award and “it is a happy occasion to release the book in Eluru.” He stated that the writer discussed the problems and living conditions of the jute workers in her book.

Critic Kommana Radhakrishna Rao, poet Balantrapu Prasuna, jute workers’ leader K Polari, K Nagamani, Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha president Jiyyavarapu Sriramamurthy, retired librarian Kadupu Gangadhara Rao, lawyer Vakada Raja Rao and others spoke on the occasion.
