Jateeya Balika Dinotsavam was celebrated under the aegis of Guntur District Forum for Child Rights at KSRT High School here on Wednesday.
Guntur: Jateeya Balika Dinotsavam was celebrated under the aegis of Guntur District Forum for Child Rights at KSRT High School here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the school principal P Rambabu said, “January 24 is observed as the National Girl Child Day. Women have been marching ahead in all fields and excelling in fields like law, education, administration and medicine.” Stating that girls should compete with boys, he explained the significance of the day and motivated girl children to succeed in life.
P Nagamani of the school took the example of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, former President Pratibha Patel and IPS officer Kiran Bedi who worked hard in their fields. She briefed on the governments efforts to check child marriages and implementation of welfare schemes.
