The priests performed the Chakra Snanam, a holy bath under the Chakra Ayudha of Lord Vishnu, to the deities. Devotees competed to have the holy bath under the Chakra of the deity Kunti Madhava.

It is believed that by taking the holy Chakra Snana, one's sins would be freed. The Kunti Madhava Temple Priests offered prayers to the Sun God before the commencement of the annual ritual by reciting the charms in Tamil and Sanskrit languages.
