Voters can get same EPIC ID No on change of address
The Information Technology director of Election Commission of India, VN Sukla asked the District Collector, V Vinay Chand to follow the new and improved system of ERO Network for easy preparation of voter lists.
Ongole: The Information Technology director of Election Commission of India, VN Sukla asked the District Collector, V Vinay Chand to follow the new and improved system of ERO Network for easy preparation of voter lists. He conducted a videoconference on Thursday and explained the features of the new system and website features of nvsp.in for registration, transfer and verification of votes through a dashboard.
The IT director said that at present about 25 percent of voter registrations and modification requests were being received online. He explained to the Collector that the applications received offline should be uploaded to the dashboard built with 14 languages at ERO Network and processed along with the online requests. By this system, the director said, a unified system of voters at country level would be formulated and could be issued EPIC card easily.
Sukla said that the Form 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A were made available on the website www.nvsp.in for the public. He ordered the Collector to see the booth-level officers visit the address for verification and see the cards printed with no errors.
He also announced that with the new system, the voter could get the permanent EPIC card number and subsequent changes of address could be made on the same number based on the received requests. Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, EROs Kondaiah, Murali, Srinivasa Rao, Narasimhulu, Bhaskar Naidu, Hemasundar, Venkata Rao and other tahsildars and officials also participated in the conference.
