Eluru: As part of oil and gas conservation month, the APSRTC West Godavari Region organised a meeting to announce drivers and mechanics who contributed for oil conservation. The RTC Regional Manager, S Dhanunjaya Rao presided over the meeting held at the RTC Bus Depot here on Thursday.

The Regional Manager announced the 24 best drivers and mechanics for saving the fuel. YL Narayana of Eluru depot driver conserved the HSD oil during the year 2016-2017 and stood in first place in the region. The Eluru depot drivers stood in first and second places in the conservation of oil, the Regional Manager said.

The Regional Manager, addressing the meeting, said that the drivers and mechanics were saving fuel for the corporation. He said that oil was precious and it should be saved and announced that every year the RTC was announcing awards to the best drivers and mechanics who conserved oil.

The Chief Mechanical Engineer of Vijayawada KVRK Prasad participated as chief guest. He stressed on the need to conserve the oil. He pointed out that the corporation had the best drivers and they were saving the fuel while running buses. HPCL Sales Manager GP Naidu, RTC Deputy Chief Traffic Manager TV Ramam, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer of West Godavari Region M Nageswara Rao, participated in the meeting. Various depots managers also participated in the meeting.
