Andhra Pradesh Joint Chief Inspector of Factories D Chandrasekhara Varma, has said that there are radical changes in the world following the introduction of robots in technology fields. He inaugurated a two-day national-level student symposium ‘Sanketa-2k18’ on at SRKR Engineering College here on Thursday.

Bhimavaram: Andhra Pradesh Joint Chief Inspector of Factories D Chandrasekhara Varma, has said that there are radical changes in the world following the introduction of robots in technology fields. He inaugurated a two-day national-level student symposium ‘Sanketa-2k18’ on at SRKR Engineering College here on Thursday. The College Mechanical Engineering wing was organising the symposium.

Addressing the students, Chandrasekhara Varma said that in Andhra Pradesh so far 165 industries from 25 countries were established in Sri City in the State. He said that following the slogan ‘Make in India’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there was a vast change technically in the country. New industries with modern technologies and new products with the newest technology were being produced in Sri City.

Even employment opportunities were improving and the multi-skilled persons only could utilize the opportunities. He pointed out that 40 percent of IIT graduates were getting employment whereas, in Engineering Colleges, only 15 percent were getting the opportunity. He suggested that new technology, practical training and internship should be made available to the students besides the syllabus. If this procedure was followed, the students would get the employment opportunities by the time they finish their graduation.

College Correspondent Sagi Vithal Ranga Raju suggested the young engineers to study the technology and develop their skills accordingly.College principal G Pardhasaradhi Varma, Mechanical Engineering Head of the Department K Brahma Raju also addressed the students.

Chandra Sekhara Varma released the SANKET-2k18 souvenir at the inaugural meeting. College management felicitated Chandrasekhara Varma, who was an old student of the Colege. The college vice-principal, symposium convener KVSN Raju, Prof VK Viswanatha Raju, student representatives Sriram and Kishore participated in the programme.
