Kakinada: The 547th birth anniversary celebrations of the Vijayanagara King Krishna Deva Raya were held at Mandal Parishad Primary School in Ramanayya Peta here on Friday. The Bharat Vikas Parishad organised the event. Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Vikas Parishad senior member Basava Prabhakara Rao said Sri Krishna Deva Raya’s rule was regarded as the golden age for India.

He said that Krishna Deva Raya ruled his kingdom for nearly 21 years. He informed that Krishna Deva Raya was a patron of arts, culture and literature. He also informed that even though he belongs to Tuluva dynasty he showed much interest in the development of the Telugu language. He said in the history of India, Krishna Deva Raya’s rule was regarded as the golden age for Hindus. Parishad President Rednam Raja, Adabala Ratna Prasad Rao, CRP Vijaya Lakshmi, HM Nagamani and school students participated.
