PR engineers stage dharna
Joint Action Committee of Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj Engineers staged a dharna at Panchayat Raj Superintendent Engineer\'s office here on Wednesday, to mount pressure on the government to accept their demands immediately and solve their problems.

Addressing the gathering, AP PR Engineers Association general secretary Sangeetha Rao said that the PR engineers should be under the control of DEs and not in the control of the MPDOs. He wanted the government to appoint two site engineers for AEs and appoint deputy executive engineers as PA to EE. He urged the government to give Rs 3000 allowance to AEs every month.
He further demanded that the government regularise their services and announce seniority list. The government should give pay scale to ad hoc promotion holders. He felt that holding of review meeting with the filed-level engineers was not correct and requested to stop Collector or ZP CEOs review meeting with the field-level engineers. He opposed appointing ZP staff in the PR department and cancel the third party quality control in the MNREGS works. APPREA district president G Venu Babu also participated in the dharna.
