Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has said that a lemon processing industry will be established at a cost of Rs 10.6 crore at Ramasingavaram village in Pedavegi mandal. He presided over the District Industries Promotional Committee meeting held at Collectorate here on Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, the Collector said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Government and the Coastal Herbal Private Limited in the recently concluded industrial summit at Visakhapatnam. As per the MoU, three acres of land would be allotted to the company as per the rules of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructures Corporation (APIIC).

The Collector explained that if young entrepreneurs come forward to set up industries, the district administration would sanction permissions within one week including allotment of land. He said that 380 acres have already been allotted to the APIIC in Ramasingavaram village in Pedavegi mandal and if anyone comes forward to set up industries they would give all necessary allotments.

The Coastal Herbal Private Limited directors, T Parameswara Rao and Madhu said the proposed lemon processing unit would produce 15 varieties of products from lemon.The Collector said that so far 1922 industrialists applied for the establishment of industries and 1882 industries were permitted through single desk.

Industries Centre General Manager Trimurthulu, Commercial Tax Deputy Commissioner Rajasekhar, District Panchayati Officer MV Ramana, Industries Deputy Director Adiseshulu, District Town and Country planning officer Koteswara Rao, Lead Bank District Manager K Surya Rao participated in the meeting.
