The RM distributed pamphlets about the cargo service to the conductors on duty and told them that the APSRTC had launched its own cargo parcel service from August 27, 2017 after the contract of ANL services was lapsed.

Ongole: The Prakasam Region Manager of the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation, K Adam Saheb launched promotion of cargo services in the buses, at Ongole Bus Station on Friday. The RM distributed pamphlets about the cargo service to the conductors on duty and told them that the APSRTC had launched its own cargo parcel service from August 27, 2017 after the contract of ANL services was lapsed.

He said that the ANL service fetched only Rs 9 crore per annum but the new cargo service began in APSTRC had collected Rs 45 crore in the last year and had received great response from the public. If improved, the RM said that the RTC could earn Rs 300 crore per year on the cargo alone.

In order to increase the cargo revenue further, Adam Saheb asked the conductors to explain the benefits of the cargo with folded hands to the passengers. He asked them to explain that the RTC can ship the small covers or either large boxes by transporting the parcel in the next bus. The parcel can be delivered on the same day, depending on the service availability, he added.

The RM, DM and other officials explained the same to passengers in a few busses as part of the launching the promotion programme.
