Bhimavaram: Dr Gollapalli Nageswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Andhra University has called upon the engineering students to be part in the reconstruction of the country. He participated as chief guest in the 36th annual day function of SRKR Engineering College here on Thursday. The college president Sagi Prasada Raju, presided over the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor said that India was developing in technology field speedily and it was now capable of imparting training to other countries’ experts. He said that the youth should take up research to implement the Prime Minister’s call of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ and ‘Skill India’. He expressed hope that within a decade, India would surpass China in technology field.

The college principal, G Pardhasaradhi Varma said that the a few college students got employment with a package of Rs 25 lakh in the campus placement of foreign companies. He said the college students had undergone internship in three batches at the Stanford University of US. The college president, Sagi Prasada Raju and correspondent and secretary Sagi Vithal Raju explained the management activities on the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor, Nageswara Rao presented gold medals to the students who got highest marks in various groups. The college vice-president P Krishnamraju, G Ramaraju, KS Vijayanarasimha Raju, Dr Sitaramaraju, CEO SRK Nishant Varma, Dr I Hemalatha participated. Later, the management felicitated Nageswara Rao. The college student, Ch Sowjanya got two medals for her outstanding performance. The college student, K Saiteja got two medals for his all-around performance in all categories.
