Dwaraka Tirumala: Hundreds of devotees thronged the Maddi Kshetram in Guravayagudem village of Jangareddigudem on Telugu new year Ugadi on Sunday.

The Maddi Kshetram where Lord Maddi Anjaneyaswamy temple situated witnessed huge crowd since early hours. The temple priests conducted the Panchanga Sravanam on the first day of the Telugu new-year. In their Panchanga Sravanam, the priests predicted that during this year, the summer might be severe as the festival came on Sunday, the favourite day of Lord Surya. They predicted least rains during the rainy season and the farmers may face low yielding.

After the Panchanga Sravanam, the temple authorities felicitated the priests. The devotees offered prayers to Lord Maddi Anjaneya Swamy. Temple Executive officer Penmetsa Sivaramaraju said that donors have donated over Rs 1 crore and this would be utilised to construct Annadana Satram where Annadanam would be conducted for 400 people at a time.
