Human chain formed over Special Category Status
The activists of the YSRCP formed a human chain at Prakasham Chowk here on Monday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.The YSRCP workers, led by former MLA Grandhi Srinivas, rallied in the town and reached Prakasham Chowk.

Later, they formed a human chain in the centre. The workers raised slogans asking for the SCS to the State.
Addressing the gathering, former MLA and constituency YSRCP coordinator Grandhi Srinivas flayed the Centre for not according the SCS to the state. He accused the Telugu Desam Party of colluding with the BJP at the Centre and neglecting the SCS issue over the last four years.
He criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his double standards over the SCS. He came down heavily on Naidu for not seeking SCS during the last four years and supporting BJP even it betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh. “As the YSRCP started the agitation for SCS to the State, the Chief Minister had raised his voice in the last minute. The YSRCP MPs had moved a no-confidence motion against the BJP led NDA over the SCS,” he pointed out.
He claimed that the YSRCP had started the agitation to gather the support of the people of the state to achieve the SCS.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP workers of Achanta village also formed a human chain over the SCS.
The workers rallied in the village on Monday morning and reached Kacheri Centre. They protested at the centre and later formed a human chain. Achanta Assembly constituency coordinator Kavuru Srinivas alleged that the BJP and TDP had betrayed the people in according the SCS.
