Birth anniversary of Poet Tirupati celebrated

The 146th birth anniversary of Divakarla Tirupati Sastry, one of the duo of Tirupati Venkata Kavulu was held at Branch Library in Yandagandi village, the birthplace of Tirupati Sastry in Undi mandal on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting, Ravi Kumar said that the literary work done by Tirupati Sastry shows his capability in the literary field.
Writer and journalist Chodavarapu Bangarrao said that after Nannayya and Tikkana who were masters in poetry, Tirupati Venkata Kavulu stood as pioneers in prose poetry.
Diwakarla Suribabu, Datla Satyanarayana Raju, Sivaramaraju, Anjaneyulu, Ch Lenin Babu, Branch Librarian V Krishna Murthy and others addressed the meeting. The participants garlanded the statue of Tirupati Sastry and paid tributes to the great poet on occasion.
