The workers of Left parties and the YSR Congress, resorted to road blockade in Bhimavaram town on Thursday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) and implement the assurances mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act. The agitators of CPI, CPM and YSRCP parties rallied in the town and reached the Flyover centre near Bus Stand in the town and resorted to the road blockade. 

Bhimavaram: The workers of Left parties and the YSR Congress, resorted to road blockade in Bhimavaram town on Thursday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) and implement the assurances mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act.
The agitators of CPI, CPM and YSRCP parties rallied in the town and reached the Flyover centre near Bus Stand in the town and resorted to the road blockade.

Due to the blockade, vehicular traffic was disrupted. The workers led by Grandhi Srinivas (YSRCP) and B Balaram (CPM) warned that they would intensify their fight against the Centre to get the SCS to the State.

YSRCP leaders Kode Yugandhar, Gadiraju Venkata Subrahmanyam Raju, Pericharla Narasimha Raju, Gogu Raj, CPM leaders Juttiga Narasimhamurthy, BV Varma, M Vaikuntha Rao, B Chaitanya Prasad, Chellaboina Venkateswara Rao, Bokka Rambabu, K Krishna, CPI leaders Chellaboina Ranga Rao, Trimurthulu and others led the agitation.
