Fishermen get nets, bicycles on subsidy

Kakinada: Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council Reddy Subrahmanyam called upon the eligible fishers to avail the subsidy and get employment.
He participated as chief guest and distributed subsidised fishing nets to the fishermen at Kothapeta on Sunday. The event was organised by the fisheries department.
Speaking on this occasion, Subrahmanyam said that the government had distributed bicycles and fishing nets to the fishermen. He informed that they had given 90 percent subsidy on bicycles and fishing nets worth Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 6.34 lakh respectively to 47 beneficiaries.
ZPTC member Dharanala Rama Krishna, MPTC member Reddy Mohan and fisheries officials V Krishna Rao and Gopala Rao participated.
