Rajamahendravaram: The YSR Congress farmers wing president, MVS Nagi Reddy has expressed concern over the declining of water table in River Godavari and alleged that the Water Resources Department (WRD) had not taken any precautionary measures in this regard.Speaking to reporters at party office here on Sunday, he quoted the department officials as saying about one lakh acres during this Rabi season would not get water due to lack of water in River Godavari.

“Rabi is very important than Khariff paddy crop in Godavari delta area. Now how can the government combat water problem during this Rabi season,” he questioned.

Telangana government was constructing lift irrigation schemes in the upstream of River Godavari. The Godavari delta would face problem if the government failed to complete Polavaram Project. Former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, was the first to start Pulichintala

project on River Krishna along with Polavaram Project, he claimed.He demanded that the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, complete the project as early as possible by putting an end to controversy with the Central government.

The YSRCP Greater Rajamahendravaram president, Kandula Durgesh wanted CBI to inquire on
