Parchuru: The Anglo Indian MLA in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Philip C Tocher visited Bollapalli village in Martur mandal on Monday and consoled the family of Chetarajupalli Subbaravamma, who was murdered by a psychopath last week.

Philip spoke to the husband of Subbaravamma, her son and other villagers and police officials to learn about the murder. The police explained to him that six workers were carving statues at the temple on the hill in the village, for few months. On the 21st of march, one of them tried to misbehave with Subbaravamma, who was in prayer on the terrace of her house, but murdered her as she resisted. The police clarified the MLA that there was no religious angle in the murder of the woman.

Philip Tocher consoled Jayaramaiah, husband of Subbaravamma and other family members by meeting them at their house. He assured that financial help would be provided to the family as ex-gratia through the Chandranna Bima scheme. He asked the police officials to book the contractor also in the murder case for bringing mentally disturbed people for work.
