The forest department has dug many water ponds to quench the thirst of animals in Chintoor range forest area in connection with summer season. The water ponds were arranged in the interior areas of Kundur section of Tellavarigudem. As many as six water ponds were dug within a distance of one kilometer each with five feet width and depth.

The water ponds were arranged in the interior areas of Kundur section of Tellavarigudem. As many as six water ponds were dug within a distance of one kilometer each with five feet width and depth.

According to Chintoor divisional forest officer Srinivas, at present there is no water in the streams such as Hamsavagu, Ginne Togu Vaagu in Tellavarigudem area. Due to this, many animals have been facing problems for drinking water. To combat the problem, the forest department arranged water ponds, which can cater to their water needs.

An amount of Rs 3,000 was spent on each water pond. Meanwhile, many wild animals have been moving in that area, which is adjacent to Papi Kondalu Reserve Forest.
Chief Conservator of Forests JSN Murthi underlined the need to protect wild animals which are part and parcel of our life. The department is taking necessary steps to provide water to the animals.
