Prakasam girls for National Youth Fencing Championship
The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association has announced that two fencers from Prakasam district have been selected for participating in the 5th National Youth Fencing Championship (Under 23), scheduled to be held at Nasik in Maharashtra from Thursday.
Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association has announced that two fencers from Prakasam district have been selected for participating in the 5th National Youth Fencing Championship (Under 23), scheduled to be held at Nasik in Maharashtra from Thursday.
The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association president and Prakasam District Fencing Association secretary V Nageswara Rao said that Tirumalasetty Lakshmi Vineela from Ongole was selected in the Foil category while Palaparthy Chandrika from Chirala was selected in the Sabre category for the 5th National Youth (Under 23) Fencing Championship.
He said that the fencers would participate in the championship to be held at the Divisional Sports Complex at Panchavati in Nasik from March 29 to 31. He said that these fencers selection was done on the basis of their performance at the 4th state-level youth (Under 23) championship held in Ongole from December 10 to 12, 2017.
The Prakasam District Fencing Association president, Balisetty Nageswara Rao and Prakasam district Olympic Association Ad Hoc Committee convener Kurra Bhaskara Rao appreciated the fencers and whished them all the best.
