RDO announces MSP for paddy farmers
Revenue Divisional Officer Raghu Babu, ordered Tahsildars and Civil Supplies department officials to take measures to provide minimum support price for paddy farmers for the 2017-18 Rabi season.
Kakinada: Revenue Divisional Officer Raghu Babu, ordered Tahsildars and Civil Supplies department officials to take measures to provide minimum support price for paddy farmers for the 2017-18 Rabi season.
He conducted a review meeting on paddy purchase and collection at the rural MDO office here on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, the RDO informed that they had connected 32 paddy purchase centres in Kakinada Revenue Division with 42 rice mills. He ordered the officials that they should go to the farmlands and check paddy samples. He also ordered them to take the measures to pay for the farmers as quickly as possible after supplying the paddy.
The RDO explained that the government had fixed Rs 1,590 per quintal for Grade-A type paddy and Rs 1,550 per quintal for the normal type of paddy.
He ordered the civil supply officials to inspect the register A and register B at the rice mills and should also inspect the paddy purchase centres. They had established a call centre at the civil supplies office and farmers can call 0884-2354341 number for their doubts on paddy pricing.
