GMC chief inspects road-widening works
Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar directed the engineering officials to speed up the road-widening works. He inspected road widening, underground drainage works at Nandivelugu Road, Chuttugunta Road and surrounding areas in Guntur city on Thursday.
Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar directed the engineering officials to speed up the road-widening works. He inspected road widening, underground drainage works at Nandivelugu Road, Chuttugunta Road and surrounding areas in Guntur city on Thursday.
Speaking on this occasion, he instructed the public health department officials to shift garbage from dustbins to the dumping yard. He instructed the officials to take steps to clean the dust accumulated at road dividers in the city and shift the garbage accumulated on roadside. He directed the officials to maintain quality in the road construction works and asked them to acquire land for road-widening works. He assured that the GMC would pay compensation to the land owners as per rules.
Local people requested the GMC Commissioner to appoint a watchman for walking track at Nallacheruvu. Responding to the request the Commissioner replied that if they form a committee with the walkers, they may develop the walking track. GMC Superintendent Engineer Satyanarayana, Town Planning officials were also present.
