Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Aided Colleges Part-time/Temporary/Unaided Lecturers Association vice-president Dr K Parameswara Rao said aided institutions have more than 100-years of history and these institutions have been imparting education to the poor SC, ST and BC community people and the government should realise the importance of aided institutions.

He demanded that the government take immediate action to regularise the teaching and non-teaching staff working in aided institutions.

He along with the association members submitted a memorandum to the Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) C S Satyanarayana Reddy on Thursday. Later, the members of the association stalled the Intermediate spot valuation for half an hour at SRR and CVR Junior College.

Parameswara Rao demanded that the government immediately cancel the GO No 35, which was a hurdle to the government to regularise the aided lecturers and other staff. They also wanted the government to implement the Supreme Court order on ‘Equal pay for equal work.’ He said that lecturers who had cleared SET, NET and Ph D were working for a meagre salary of Rs 8,000 and 10, 000 only.
