Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N Chinna Rajappa here on Thursday said that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had emerged for the welfare of the poor and the suppressed classes in society.

He participated as the chief guest at the TDP’s 37th inception day celebrations at the district party office here. He along with TDP MLAs and other leaders paid tributes to the party founder NTR by garlanding his statue.

Speaking on this occasion, he said the TDP founder and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao always wanted the welfare of the poor and downtrodden classes in society.

Their leader and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was continuing the objectives of NTR by adopting many welfare schemes for all classes in society. The deputy CM said he was an ordinary activist in the party and followed the doctrines of the party. The party had given him all the posts that he had been enjoying in the government. He advised the activists to stick to the party’s principles to be identified as good leaders.

On this occasion, Rajappa cut 37 kg cake to mark the formation day celebrations.
Later, he inaugurated a blood donation programme at the TDP office organised by the party leaders. Vigilance Committee member Dhulipudi Venkata Ramana and others donated blood at the donation camp.

Kakinada City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao, MLC Chikkala Rama Chandra Rao, TDP district president Namana Rambabu, Mayor Pavani and TDP corporators and activists participated in the celebrations.
