4 auto drivers held, property worth Rs 2.25 lakh recovered
Urban police arrested four auto drivers who were allegedly involved in crimes and recovered property worth Rs 2.25 lakh from their possession.
Guntur: Urban police arrested four auto drivers who were allegedly involved in crimes and recovered property worth Rs 2.25 lakh from their possession.
According to the police, Shaik Khaleel, N Anand Babu, S Yesu Babu, Addanki Pawan Koteswara Rao were friends. During night time, they used to pick up the passengers and after some distance, threaten them and rob them of jewellery, debit, credit credits and other valuables.
Acting on a tip off, Circle Inspector Seshagiri Rao along with his team, took the offenders into custody. During questioning, they confessed to the crime. The accused manhandled a passenger at Agatavarappadu and robbed him of Rs 6,000 in cash and a smart phone.
The victim lodged a complaint. Based on that, the police officers started investigating the case. The police recovered Rs 14,000 in cash, two bank cards, two wrist watches and two cell phones from the offenders. The police are investigating the case.
