Pithapuram: An episode of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion was enacted here on Friday on account of Good Friday. A person in the attire of Jesus was seen carrying a huge cross with a great difficulty while people dressed as Roman soldiers were seen whipping him. Christian followers were seen crying for their Lord as the soldiers whipped him. The episode was enacted by members of Christian community under the leadership of the Church father Satish.

A procession was taken out by members of the community on the occasion performing the crucifixion episode. Later, the ‘Jesus’ was crucified at the local fort. Father Satish addressed the gathering stating that the Jesus Christ was crucified on the same day to save the humans from their sins and for the world peace.

The episode was enacted to sensitise the younger generation on the travails undergone by the Jesus. Special mass services were performed at the Andhra Baptist Church and Bethesda Church here.
