Kakinada: Collector Karthikeya Misra directed the officials of agriculture department to put in their efforts to get high yield during this Rabi season in the paddy fields of farmers who underwent training in latest cultivation methods.

Participating in ATMA meeting held here on Friday, he said that it was the duty of the respective officials to bring awareness among farmers on how to get high yield
by using latest methods with less investment. The farmers who were given training in latest cultivation methods should implement them to get good yield, he said.

The Collector directed the officials to impart training to the farmers who were set aside from training classes earlier.

He directed the officials of ATMA to furnish the details of farmers who so far were given training in latest cultivation methods. Officials of agriculture and horticulture departments should work together to supply fodder grass to the cattle during this summer season. He also asked the officials to prepare an action plan for the year 2018-2019 to take up farmer-based activities.

Joint Collector-2 JRK Murthi, ATMA project director K Padmaja, Agriculture department joint director KSV Prasad, Animal Husbandry department joint director K Shivaji, Fisheries department deputy director Jaya Rao and other officials were present.
