Christians in the city observed Good Friday, the historical day of crucifixion of Jesus Christ by the Roman empire. Devotees thronged churches spread all over the city and offered special prayers on the occasion.

Visakhapatnam: Christians in the city observed Good Friday, the historical day of crucifixion of Jesus Christ by the Roman empire. Devotees thronged churches spread all over the city and offered special prayers on the occasion.

Around 10,000 people took out a procession from Subbalakshmi Kalyanamandapam and returned via DRM Office, Calvary Baptist Church and Ambedkar Circle. The procession was led by PJ Stephen Paul of Life Changing Revival Centre. Bishops and Reverends gave meditations on the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.

Youth in large numbers also participated in singing songs on the crucifixion of Jesus accompanied by solemn music touching the main thoroughfares of the city.

Pastor Stephen Paul gave a narration on the significance of Good Friday and the redemption wrought by the Lord by his sacrificial death on the cross.

Another procession was taken out to Rakshana Giri church in Gnanapuram in the city. The Trinity Lutheran Church, WNB Church and other churches conducted special prayers.

Infant Jesus Church at Seethammadhara also witnessed a huge gathering of devotees.
