Singer Sripada Jit Mohan Mitra felicitated

Rajamahendravaram: Brown Mandir organisers felicitated veteran singer and Movie Artists Association executive member Sripada Jit Mohan Mitra on the occasion of his birthday here on Friday.
Responding to his felicitation, Jit Mohan Mitra said that his life was dedicated to the cultural capital of the city, which brought name and fame to him for many years. The river bank gave life to him as a singer, he said.
Setting aside many insults and taking them as a challenge, he started career as a cine playback singer. During 1952-1953 only Christian related orchestra programmes were in swing and first song was sung from the stage, he informed.
Vetaran cine actor late Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao, eminent lyric writer Dr C Narayana Reddy and well-known director ‘Kala Tapaswi’ Dr K Viswanadh encouraged him in the film industry. So far, about 6,000 music concerts were conducted during six decades of his career.
SS Sastry, K Ravi Shankar, E Prasad, Ravi, A Maridiah, VK Mohan, Prasad, SS Rao and many others were present.
