Race to gain control over Kala Kendram
Will Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram remains with Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) or goes under the control of Andhra Pradesh Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation (APFDC) is a million dollar question now.
Rajamahendravaram: Will Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram remains with Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) or goes under the control of Andhra Pradesh Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation (APFDC) is a million dollar question now.
The Kala Kendram was constructed three decades ago and from then it was under the control of Information and Public Relations Department. One year ago, RMC took over this auditorium on the directions of former Collector H Arun Kumar. Collector is the chairman and District Public Relations Officer is secretary to the auditorium. But from last one year, RMC Commissioner took its entire responsibility.
Meanwhile, the APFDC eyed on this auditorium as it donated a lion’s share of amount at the time of the construction of the auditorium.Meanwhile, the corporation was also dealing with theatre arts and corporation officials thought that it was good if they run the auditorium.
In the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh, it is the only biggest auditorium with 1,300 seating capacity, along with three mini halls, air-condition facility etc.
While Information and Public Relations Department is putting in its efforts to get back the auditorium under its control, the APFDC also joined the race.
