Guntur: Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao imposed Section 30 of Police Act from April 4 to May 3 which makes compulsory for organisers to take permission from the police for holding rallies, dharnas and protests. He directed the officials to step up vigilance on the movements of the anti-social elements and strangers.

He instructed them to use closed circuit cameras for this purpose and book cases against those who violated the Section 30 of Police Act. He warned that he would take stern action against violators. He would engage special teams to monitor the movements of suspects and set up police pickets wherever necessary.
